Going to Pot

There is enormous potential for cannabis/hemp to aid in preserving environment and health, as well as for food, fuel, and construction. As we appear to move toward its legalization, starting with medical marijuana and decriminalization, regulatory structures around the drug are already being instituted. The question is, who will monetarily benefit from legalized marijuana…and who won’t? Will it be corporate, pharmaceutical, or political interests that win the lion’s share of profits from this plant? What kind of taxes would be put on cannabis, and according to what criteria? Would home growers be regulated as well? Join moderator and Ford Hall Forum board member Don Tye to discover whether answers to these questions indicate why we haven’t legalized it yet, or when we might fully do so.
