			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p id="top" />The Board of Directors of the Ford Hall Forum seeks to hire a high-energy, detail-oriented Executive Director who will creatively lead this one-person-shop &#8212; a private nonprofit organization in residence at Suffolk University.  Responsibilities include:</p>
<p style="padding-left: 30px;"><strong>Programming </strong>– Plan, implement, and evaluate 12 to 16 public lecture programs per year designed to engage diverse audiences in discussions and debates about timely issues.</p>
<ul style="padding-left: 30px;">
<li>Collaborate with the Forum’s Board of Directors and Program Committee to plan and manage lectures;</li>
<li>Engage event staff and volunteers for smooth coordination of events;</li>
<li>Work with A/V staff and organizational partners (WGBH, FORA.tv, and iTunes) to distribute content online.</li>
</ul>
<p style="padding-left: 30px;"><strong>Fundraising </strong>– Work with Board of Directors to procure resources for the Forum’s operations.</p>
<ul style="padding-left: 30px;">
<li>Research and identify prospects and seek financial support from individual, foundation, corporate, and government sources.</li>
<li>Plan and implement fundraising that will generate income for the Ford Hall Forum.</li>
</ul>
<p style="padding-left: 30px;"><strong> </strong></p>
<p style="padding-left: 30px;"><strong>Marketing</strong> –<strong> </strong>Promote and market events through communications with press and media representatives, audiences, and other interested parties.<strong> </strong></p>
<ul style="padding-left: 30px;">
<li>Collaborate with FHF Media Consultant and Suffolk University’s Public Affairs office to expand outreach to press.</li>
<li>Manage content on website, online event listings, and keep the Forum’s presence in current and emerging social media platforms.</li>
<li>Oversee design, printing, and distribution of brochures for spring and fall seasons.</li>
</ul>
<p style="padding-left: 30px;"><strong>General &amp; Administrative </strong>– Work in close collaboration with the Board of Directors to plan and evaluate progress toward achieving goals and objectives.</p>
<ul style="padding-left: 30px;">
<li>Plan, manage and monitor organizational and project budgets.</li>
<li>Develop and maintain partnerships with groups and organizations to enhance program offerings, expand our organizational resources, reach new communities, and raise the profile of the Ford Hall Forum.</li>
<li>Manage day-to-day operations of the office and perform other work-related duties as required.</li>
<li>In addition, the executive director will play a leading role in a 2010 strategic planning process headed by the nonprofit consulting firm ESC New England.</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>QUALIFICATIONS</strong></p>
<p style="padding-left: 30px;">Bachelor&#8217;s degree<br />
Self-starter, intellectually curious and well-informed<br />
Highly organized with demonstrated attention to detail<br />
Ability to work with a wide range of audiences from diverse backgrounds<br />
Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills<br />
Experience planning and managing events<br />
Strong research and computer skills, especially new technologies and social networking platforms<br />
Budgeting and fundraising experience a plus</p>
<p><strong>SALARY and BENEFITS</strong></p>
<p style="padding-left: 30px;">Full-time benefits for a salaried executive director include vacation/personal/sick days, holidays, medical insurance, and contributions to a retirement plan.  Salary is commensurate with experience and the resources of a small, non-profit organization.</p>

He began his legal career in the Boston law firm, Brown, Rudnick, Freed &amp; Gesmer (now Brown Rudnick), then was appointed as associate justice of the Massachusetts Appeals Court, where he served from 1979 to 2003.  He has served on a number of nonprofit boards, including the Cambridge Center for Adult Education, the Jewish Community Housing for the Elderly, and the Brigham and Women&#8217;s Hospital. Today, he continues to practice law with The Mediation Group and teaches at Boston College Law School. He has been an active Ford Hall Forum Board Member for over 30 years.<br />
